You’re invited to join the Jewish Federation’s Behar Center for Jewish-Multicultural Affairs (CJMA) for a very special 2026 Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration!
On Thursday, September 17th, get ready to experience the vibrant, soul-stirring music of internationally acclaimed Ladino singer-songwriter Nani Vazana.
Through music, history, and storytelling, Nani brings the Ladino language and cultural tradition to life.
Ladino emerged from the Sephardic Jewish communities expelled from Spain in 1492 and traveled across the Mediterranean, North Africa, the Balkans, and the Americas. Today, it remains a cherished cultural tradition, a living testament to migration, memory, and resilience.
Nani’s work offers a powerful reflection on resilience, memory, cultural identity, and the connections between Jewish and Hispanic heritage.
This free, community-wide program will feature Nani’s music and Sephardic and Spanish-inspired light bites.
The evening will also include a community collection of essential items to support families with reduced access to services. Requested items include toothbrushes, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, etc.
