Dear Friends,

After much reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to step down as CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans.

This is not an easy message to share. Serving this extraordinary community has been one of the greatest honors of my professional life. I’ve been continually inspired by the strength, resilience, and deep sense of purpose that defines Jewish New Orleans. It has been a privilege to work alongside so many of you—leaders, staff, volunteers, donors, clergy, partners, and friends—who give so generously of yourselves to ensure our community’s vitality, security, and future.

While it’s hard to say goodbye, I do so with deep gratitude. Together, we’ve:

  • Expanded community engagement through creative and meaningful programming
  • Strengthened relationships across the community and beyond
  • Grown our annual campaign to meet evolving needs
  • Led with unwavering support for Israel and global Jewish life

I am proud of all we’ve achieved and confident in the road ahead.

This transition comes as I prepare to begin a new chapter as CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, beginning sometime in September. Though I’ll be based in a new city, I will always carry this community with me—with pride, affection, and heartfelt appreciation.

I remain committed to ensuring a smooth and thoughtful transition. In the weeks ahead, I’ll work closely with the board, staff, and volunteer leadership to maintain the momentum we’ve built together and ensure our shared mission continues without interruption.

Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and your friendship. It has meant the world to me.

Am Yisrael Chai.

With gratitude,

Robert French
CEO, Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans
