Teen travel as a Catalyst for active Jewish involvement at home

Hans & Donna Sternberg are passionate supporters of Israel and understand that teen travel is a catalyst for active Jewish involvement at home.

Because of this passion, they established the Hans & Donna Sternberg Israel Youth Scholarship Program which offers teens a scholarship up to $3,000 to attend semester and year-long trips to Israel, summer trips excluded.

The scholarship is available to teens based in Greater New Orleans. While the scholarships are not need based, they are limited.

Contact us at jessie@jewishnola.org to learn more about eligibility and the scholarship funds available for teen Israel programs.
Scholarship recipients are required to attend up to two pre-trip sessions and one post-trip session and to act as ambassadors for Israel trips in our community.

  • The Israel trip must be an organized semester or year-long program and must be approved by the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans.
  • The participant must be in high school the semester prior to the trip, and not have graduated from high school at the time of the trip.
